Warzone’s ziplines were an interesting feature that were always just on the verge of greatness. They’re a great way to dart up and down tall buildings that balanced its usefulness with a very noticeable noise, making every ascent a risk-reward debate. They’re a great way to traverse the map and follow the verticality of Verdansk that hadn’t been seen in Call of Duty before.

Though ziplines are a great thing for many solo players, they could often cause trouble for tight-knit squads trying to clamber the same skyscraper. But now, a new change has made it a lot easier for squads to use ziplines, and fans are very pleased.

Warzone’s Zipline Mechanic Has Secretly Been Changed

In a fresh new change that went unnoticed for the most part, the Season Four Reloaded update to Warzone has made it possible to use ziplines while teammates are already on it.

For a long time, players would have to wait until their teammate had reached the top of the rope before mounting, often resulting in a lot of deaths - but thankfully, the problem has quietly been fixed.

The addition to the game wasn’t initially confirmed in the game’s patch notes, but revealed by a Reddit user in the CODWarzone subreddit. The video shared shows a squad of three using a zipline in an elevator shaft, and all three members of the team pop out at the top in quick succession.

Fans have reacted in delight to this relatively small change that has the potential to change the game for good. “This might be the biggest change in the patch”, says user dknisle1. “This could be a game changer. Especially at ATC [Air Traffic Control].”

Some fans are a little snarkier, but the sentiment is still there - user Dr_Donutz notices that “Now all of your squad can be mowed down at once rather than just one :)” which is technically accurate - but at least your team goes down together.

The change is a surprisingly big one, and could bring a lot more team unity around. Fingers crossed this isn’t secretly a bug waiting to be patched, because knowing Warzone’s developers, it’s entirely possible. Maybe just leave this one in, Raven?
