Warzone Bug Is Giving Players Infinite Ammo

There are yet more problems in the ever-expanding Call of Duty franchise, and this time, it's a Warzone unlimited ammo bug that's running rife out there in Verdansk. Since its release earlier this year, Infinity Ward's battle royale shooter has become the jewel in the CoD crown by taking the series to new heights.

Despite this, there's barely a day that goes by that players don't report some sort of bug, hack, or glitch that's ruining the gameplay experience for others. The latest is a potentially game-breaking one.

While Warzone Season 6 added a tonne of new content including four new maps and the terrifying "Haunting of Verdansk", things started to trail off toward its tail-end. Alongside problems with glitchy Juggernauts making them even more powerful than before, and Warzone watches revealing player locations, stocking everyone with unlimited ammo could be a big problem.

Warzone infinite ammo bug: What is it?

Posting on Reddit, u/double-extra-medium showed how you can exploit Warzone's reload animation to give yourself an unlimited supply of bullets. The bug seems to work by dropping a piece of ammo to the ground and then starting the reload animation. As the clip shows, the animation plays out but the ammo count stays the same.

The Warzone unlimited ammo bug sounds similar to a previous one that crawled into the game. Someone else pointed out, "There used to be a similar glitch where you'd drop the gun as soon as it reloaded and it wouldn't take any from your reserve, but I've never seen this before. How tf does dropping launcher ammo keep your AR ammo".

It could be a dangerous bug to come across, however, not everyone was convinced. One critic argued, "Bad glitch, but I'm not necessarily worried about running into a guy with unlimited ammo". Another added, "Very rarely do I not have enough ammo for a fight, its buggy but far from game-breaking. Has anyone tried to dupe loadouts yet?". It's true that a gun is only as good as the person on the trigger, meaning even someone with an unlimited stock of ammo can easily be taken out with the right headshot.

Warzone infinite ammo bug: Will it be fixed?

Even though not everyone thinks the bug is game-breaking, expect the developers to be on it pretty quick. Giving everyone unlimited ammo is clearly not how the battle royale bloodbath is meant to work. Still, with this being the second glitch to come alongside in-game animations, it makes you wonder whether it's a universal issue.

Warzone is supposed to be a dogged fight for survival as you dive into the map armed with just a pistol and limited ammo. It's up to players to scavenge what they need to survive, improve their arsenal, and take out the competition to be last one standing. If you don't know where to look, ammo is scarce in Verdansk and can earn you a one-way ticket to the Gulag. The idea of an infinite ammo loop might be a tempting one, but then, what's the point of making it a competition?

As developers prepare to draw the curtains on Season 6 (and possibly Warzone's time with Modern Warfare), it's time to make room for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1. Maybe devs have been too busy ploughing their time into the delayed Cold War Warzone Season 1 release to notice sneaky cheats are running around with unlimited ammo?
