Warzone Fans Want A Feature That Punishes Players For Quitting Early
Battle royale games, as you can imagine, didn’t take very long to get incredibly competitive. It’s clear to see even from a glance at the world’s biggest streamers who stand as the best advertisers of the genre get very intense, and so do many other players and fans. The likes of PUBG and Apex Legends are rife with competitive powerhouses - and to be honest, Warzone is no exception.
Frustratingly, Warzone’s competitive scene isn’t quite as supported by its devs as other games in the genre - and fans are calling for a new change that could make the game a lot fairer for teams looking to climb the ranks.
Warzone Fans Want Early Leavers To Be Punished
A post in the CODWarzone subreddit has stoked a lot of conversation by calling on Raven Software to bring into the game some kind of punishment to players who elect to leave early.
“I’m sich and frustrated at a**hole players who leave mid-game when they die”, user bouncykey122 starts in their post. “90% of the games I play don’t end with a full team.”
They go on to express how this problem could be remedied; “They should be penalized by having to wait 10 minute to get into the next game and progressively increase if they manually exit the game.”
It’s a fair suggestion to make, as Apex Legends has a similar feature that seriously deters players from leaving their games early. Many fans seem to think so too, as they’ve been sounding off in the comments with their own solutions.
Warzone Fans Have Had Enough Of Disadvantages
One commenter suggests that the leaving penalty should be active until a certain point in the game, remarking “I didn’t realise this was such an unpopular opinion but I would love a 5-minute timer for people who leave a game before 5th circle”. The concept might mean that the second the 5th circle arrives a swathe of players could leave, but at least they’re around for the most part helping their team a little further into the round.
This might seem like a good idea for some, but other players have already found their work-around. “I agree with you but at the same time if you want committed teammates for find people that are actually good to play with and party up with them”, suggests another commenter. “90% of people who play random games are either s**t at the game or s**t teammates that nobody cares to play with.”
Whether or not the feature is added to Warzone any time soon remains a mystery, but it’s one that fans would be glad to see. After all, competitive support in the game isn’t quite world-breaking, so it’s an addition that wouldn’t go amiss.
