It Looks Like Warzone And Cold War's Season 5 Have Been Delayed

While we're more than ready for a whole new version of the Cold War, the Call of Duty world is in chaos. Since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War last November, we've enjoyed this historical jaunt around the globe, as Russell Adler has tried to find Perseus.

On the other side of the CoDverse, Warzone's ongoing success has seen the battle royale bloodbath go from strength to strength.

Following the introduction of Rebirth Island, we've seen zombies invade the map, the destruction of the OG Verdansk for the introduction of Verdansk '84, and an '80s action crossover with Rambo and Die Hard. 

Have Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 5 been delayed?

The rumour mill has gone into overdrive that both Black Ops Cold War Season 5 and Warzone Season 5 have been delayed. There are multiple reports that the Season 4 Battle Pass has been extended. Previously, it was supposed to end on Aug 11 at 9 pm PT. The endgame has mysteriously been changed to Aug 12 at 9 pm PT - suggesting Season 5 will be delayed by at least a day. 

If that wasn't enough, the official Call of Duty site has also changed. It used to say Warzone Season 5 was coming on August 12, but if you look now, it simply says: "Season Five is Available This Week”. If that doesn't scream delay, nothing does.

While there were plenty of fuming fans, others claim they've already given up on the game's multiplayer due to hackers. Namely, there are angry players who are throwing their controllers at the Warzone screen. When news of a potential delay broke, one gamer wrote, "No one cares any more. Hackers and zen users have completely ruined warzone. It is so rare to get a DUB nowadays".

Another added, "Who cares? Nobody is hyped for this season because the flaws and hackers have finally taken their toll on the game. In addition, Apex is pulling some numbers, along with the hype of splitgate", while a third concluded, "Lmao the game is really on its last legs 2 more months of painzone and then onto HAZARDZONE". 

Despite its critics, there's a lot of hype for Cold War and Warzone Season 5. We recently reported on a rumoured Season 5 live event that could give Fortnite's Ariana Grande concert a run for its money. Activision hasn't confirmed what's going on, but either way, you could be waiting a little longer to jump into Season 5.
