Call Of Duty: Warzone Devs Finally Suggest Anti-Cheat Is Coming
Warzone is… in a bit of a state at the moment. Well, actually, it’s been that way for a while now.
It’s no secret to anyone in the gaming world at this point that Warzone’s cheating problem is the greatest thing holding it back. Even those who don’t play and don't have to deal with cheating first-hand know that Raven Software - despite its best efforts - simply isn’t doing enough to quell the game’s rampant hacking and manipulation.
Warzone is currently in a lot of trouble, as it transitions into a new season and the mainline Call of Duty: Vanguard threatens to change the game forever. Unless the cheating problem is resolved soon, the game could crash and burn in the near future. Thankfully, developers are reassuring players that the cavalry is on its way.
Have Warzone Devs confirmed Anti-Cheat is coming?
An announcement made on Twitter by Raven Software has revealed that another 50,000 accounts have been banned in a bid to keep the cheaters at bay. The big takeaway is the suggestion that more anti-cheat measures are on the way.
“Today we banned over 50,000 accounts in #Warzone”, the tweet begins. “More importantly, we are listening and hard at work behind the scenes. We will have more info for you soon.”
This likely means that some new systems and tactics to keep cheaters away from Warzone are in the works behind closed doors. It’s about time too, and while it’s a shame that it’s taken so long for a real solution to come about, we’re glad to see that some change is on the way.
When Will New Warzone Anti-Cheat Measures Arrive?
There’s no telling when the anti-cheat methods will officially arrive, as it seems like they’re still in the brainstorming stage. However, it’s in Raven’s best interests to launch the anti-cheat before Warzone’s big changes and the launch of Vanguard.
If the patches in the fundamental gameplay still aren’t there by the time the new cosmetic changes arrive, it could spell disaster for the game. We’d at least hope a new attempt to squash cheaters could have a proper reveal by the end of Warzone Season 5.
We’re glad these changes are potentially in the works, and maybe, the cheating problem in Warzone can finally be brought to an end. The cheater takeback begins now.
