Version1, a previous sub-brand of the WISE Venture Group and now their rebranded title, has announced their official entry into VALORANT by signing Anthony “Vanity” Malaspina, Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro, Keven “PLAYER1” Champagne, Loic “Effys” Sauvageau, Erik “Penny” Penny, and head coach Ian “Immi” Harding.

The organisation makes the transition to Version1 to unify their three professional esports team: Version1 who operate in Rocket League, the new-formed VALORANT Roster, and the Minnesota Rokkr of the Call of Duty League.

The side, captained by Vanity, recently formed as NeverDone, playing throughout January and February in the Champions Tour qualifiers.

The previous weeks have been a hell for leather pace for organisation having to completely restructure their Call of Duty roster which brought in former world champion Dillon "Attach" Price alongside three fresh faces. The Rocket League roster also centralised around a championship-winning duo bolstered their ranks with the acquisition of up-and-coming rookie Robert "Comm" Kyser. Now, with the addition of five stellar names in the VALORANT scene, they will look to advance on three fronts.

Within the announcement, Jonathan Wilf, Ownership Partner and President of Version1 said: "As top professionals are showing real interest in competing in VALORANT we’ve realized an opportunity to establish a strong roster for the first season of a popular new game".

“With Riot Games at the helm, we’re confident VALORANT will thrive as an esport just as League of Legends has over the past several years.”

Recently, the VALORANT squad was held to a 2-1 defeat by FaZe Clan in the Champions Tour 2021 North America Stage 1 Qualifiers, taking the esteemed side to a map three which saw them go down 13-8 on Haven. Despite a defeat, the game was a nailbiter, proving that Version1 have acquired a team with great untapped potential.
