The first look at Call of Duty: Vanguard has been a long time coming. The game’s title and WWII setting have been swirling around the gaming consciousness for some time, and as hype for the game’s reveal has ramped up in the wake of the "Vanguard coming" teaser in the Warzone Season 5, the word "Vanguard" is the one on everyone’s lips.

And now, finally, we have our first look at Call of Duty: Vanguard and what this World War II epic has in store for us later this year. As with all these things, Activision is waging its own war against leakers and rolling out its takedown tanks.

Some promotional images from Call of Duty: Vanguard have leaked, revealing what we can assume will become the game’s box art and further promotional materials in the buildup to the release of the game. The images first appeared on Reddit, in the now-private CODVanguard subreddit. Notably, it delivered the first real glimpse of the game and its logo.

The images have also been shared on Twitter by CheezburgerBoyz but the tweet has been taken down for copyright reasons - making these images feel more and more like the real deal.

This leak also reveals the differing versions of the artwork for a ‘cross-gen bundle’ and an ‘ultimate edition’, so we can trust that they’ll be on the way for when the game launches too.

However, not only do we know about what the game will look like on the surface, but we can also discern some things about gameplay from one of the images.

The final image in the leaked batch shows off a series of rewards that could either be a part of the game’s ultimate edition or pre-order bonuses - but either way, they give away some details about how Vanguard’s multiplayer will work.

The image reveals three new operators - Lucas, Polina, and Wade - with their own weapons to boot. Lucas has the Breacher assault rifle, Polina has the Snowstorm marksman rifle, and Wade has the Thunderhead submachine gun.

What’s interesting though, is that all of these weapons have the same custom blueprint logo next to them as the weapons that appear in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. As expected, it suggests some crossover between these games.

The Frontline weapons pack is also revealed, along with some other in-game goodies and the promise of the game’s open beta early access. So, presuming you preorder the ultimate edition, there’s every chance you’ll get to play the game a little early.

These details are our biggest and clearest look at Vanguard yet, and on all accounts, it’s the biggest we’ll get until the trailer is launched. Fingers crossed it’s soon, because now we’re insatiable.
