Pro VALORANT Players Call For Stream Sniper To Be Banned
As a tactical FPS, VALORANT's meta at the upper echelon relies upon information gained through communication, flashes, footsteps, and the Michael Jackson-esque dance moves to perfect shoulder peaks. Gaining information will allow your team to set up lines of sight and anticipate pushes, relinquishing the need for a 50/50 gunfight which can go either way.
Rather than being based on pure gun skill, the bigger-brained players will rise through the ranks of VALORANT and land them a spot on some of the best teams in the world.
However, there's one clear shortcut: Stream sniping.
The method of having an enemy stream open to watch their every movement and get free kills is greatly shunned upon in any esport, especially VALORANT.
Now, after one player has gone viral for blatantly cheating, players are calling for him to be banned.
VALORANT Stream Sniper Goes Viral
VALORANT content creator "diaamondTV" shared a clip of a streamer playing against him, in which "S2Aval" attempted to defend himself after being accused of stream sniping in-game.
Within the clip, S2Aval can be heard saying "he thinks I'm sniping because I flashed B-main", in an attempt to add some tomfoolery to his audience.
However, he outsmarted himself, accidentally bringing up his windows tabs which clearly show him watching another stream, likely the aforementioned diaamondTV's.
Pittsburgh Knights employee "Jasper K" also shared a clip that shows the player clearly stream sniping.
Another reply also shows S2Aval admitting he stream sniped, and refusing to release an apology statement, much to the annoyance of his teammates.
VALORANT Pros Request Stream Sniper To Be Banned
Taking to the replies and quote tweets, many pro players and content creators have called for the player to be banned.
Some players like Lucas "Mendokusaii" Håkansson of Team Liquid simply howled at the clip, saying "LMFAOOOO". XSET professional Matthew "Wedid" Suchan simply shared a "caught in 4k" gif and Renegades' Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad also admitted it was cringy.
Content Creator "SoaR Sammy" went a step further and called on Twitch to ban the streamer on the platform.
Possibly the most high-profile player to call for S2Aval to be banned was Version1's Anthony "Vanity" Malaspina, who tweeted "surely this is bannable..." following the clip's circulation.
Riot Games nor Twitch have yet to step in, although it violates the Twitch Terms of Service agreements.
