VALORANT Players Want Split Map Disabled Over New Wall Bang Spot
VALORANT players are "split" by a big problem, as Riot Games' tactical shooter is coming under fire for a game-breaking wall bang spot that's making Split "unplayable" in competitive matches.
Since its release in June 2020, VALORANT has muscled its way onto the tightly fought shooter scene and delivered a little bit of everything. Combining the character development of Apex Legends with the aesthetic of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), it's no surprise it's been slowly chipping away at its rivals fan base. Still, VALORANT is far from perfect, and with a new week, there's a new glitch running rife.
Why do VALORANT players want Split to be disabled?
A recurring problem inside VALORANT is the ability to wall bang. Wall banging is an intentional feature that allows some weapons to penetrate through surfaces. However, it's becoming increasingly obvious that Riot hasn't quite got the balance right on certain maps like Split.
Bit unrelated, but here's everything we know about the Valorant Mobile Beta if you wanted some more Valorant intel!
Posting on Reddit u/pepesilva98 explains how they were taken out on Split's Sewer. In the video, a rival player kills them by shooting into the wall from Link to Main. A baffled OP tried to recreate the incident in a custom game, and inadvertently discovered a crazy wall banging spot that promises to wipe out the competition.
Players were suitably unimpressed by the reveal and asked for Riot to disable Split until the wall bang spot can be fixed. Someone joked, "Fnatic manager here, please delete this" as a nod to the infamous CS:GO quarterfinal match of DreamHack Winter 2014. Another added, "This is what I hate about the game.
why is every wall made of paper.. like for what reason", while a third said, "Time to play ranked and get only icebox till it gets patched".
Will VALORANT disable Split?
Only recently, there was an equally rampant wall bang glitch on Ascent. Here, players were pushing right and into A site, heading through the middle of the map, and rushing B site. Tapping through a set of doors was spraying enemies with bullets and downing them in an instant. Elsewhere, we covered how an Icebox glitch was putting indestructible versions of Killjoy's turrets outside the map.
The benefit of Split's wall-banging spot lets you push from A Site into Main, meaning your team (or a rival one) can keep a strong position without giving away this stronghold on the map. Of course, the idea of disabling Split is pretty unlikely.
Riot is hardly poised to pull one of its most popular maps from competitive. Instead, we're likely to get a patch that will dial back Split's overpowered wall bang ability. In the meantime, we'd advise you to stay away from Sewer for now. Alternatively, you could dare to venture into this danger zone and try and claim it for yourself to get some easy kills.
