VALORANT's Icebox Level Already Has A Game-Breaking Glitch

Despite Riot Games' best efforts to sprinkle a little seasonal cheer into our lives and unveil its own winter wonderland with VALORANT's Icebox map, things haven't gone smoothly for the first-person shooter.

It sounds like Icebox is skating on thin ice itself as players have reported a potentially game-breaking glitch that has left some out in the cold. Icebox is just a matter of days old, but with it offering something different to the likes of Bind and Split, it's proving to be a fan-favourite locale for those who want to test their worth.

You might remember when VALORANT Act II introduced the new Agent known as Killjoy, who was quickly welcomed with open arms. Sadly, an exploit with Killjoy's turret wasn't so welcome. Now, the turret glitch is back and causing problems over on Icebox.

How to pull off the turret glitch

Just like last time, the glitch allows Killjoy's turret to be placed outside the map, avoid detection, and shoot unsuspecting opponents through walls. It might be a great perk for the person pulling it off, but let's be honest, it's not exactly fair. YouTuber Aeracuda shared a video confirming how it's done and showed the glitch in action.

We don't advise you replicating the glitch unless you want to get slapped with the ban hammer, but in brief, it's going on in the Kitchen area of Icebox. Trying to place Killjoy's turret by the large plant in a white pot will see your turret indicator disappear and players being able to place the sentry under the map.

In the past, you were able to wall bang turrets to stop this glitch, but according to the VALORANT fanbase, things have evolved and there's no way to destroy it.

Are there other Icebox glitches?

When Icebox first went live on October 13 in Unranked, the issues came in thick and fast. The devs released a patch to fix a glitch where Omen could teleport to places of the map he wasn't supposed to, however, it looks like Killjoy and her turret slipped the net. Interestingly, it was in Kitchen that the Omen glitch was taking place, suggesting there's something wrong with that entire area.

VALORANT is the new kid on the block when it comes to tactical shooters as it vies for a place alongside the likes of Call of Duty: WarzoneOverwatch, and Apex Legends. Although it's only in its infancy, Riot has remained committed to rolling out fresh updates, new Agents, and new maps. It remains to be seen whether Icebox will be sticking around when the seasons change again, but for the time being, enjoy it - if you can. Here's hoping this game-breaking blunder is fixed before Icebox goes live on Ranked.
