Riot Games stay on course with their timeline of their tactical multiplayer FPS VALORANT, releasing information on the new Episode and Act that will launch on January 12th. With it comes a tonne of content from a cinematic trailer to a battle pass and finally the new agent Yoru. Here is all you need to know about VALORANT Episode 2 Act 1!

Cinematic Trailer

The new episode was announced with a smasher of a cinematic trailer with the new Agent Yoru and Phoenix as the protagonists trying to defuse a Spike on the map Icebox against opposing agents. Highlighting his skills and personality, Yoru tries the slower approach until Phoenix can’t hold it together and has to rush in. After they’ve revealed themselves, it’s time for Yoru to show off, fighting an intense battle of speed against Jett which he wins in the most carefree way imaginable. Check this banger out here:

New VALORANT Agent Yoru

Riot isn’t letting up with their stern release schedule of new agents entering VALORANT. The stealthy infiltrator Yoru will be joining the fray as a Duelist, bringing exciting yet highly controversial mechanics into the area of tactical DPS. His abilities look as follows:

FAKEOUT (C): Equip an echo that mimics footsteps when activated FIRE to activate and send the echo forward ALT FIRE to place an echo in place USE the inactive echo to send it forward

GATECRASH (E): EQUIP to harness a rift tether FIRE to send the tether out moving forward ALT FIRE to place a tether in place ACTIVATE to teleport to the tether's location Q: BLINDSIDE EQUIP to rip an unstable dimensional fragment from reality. FIRE to throw the fragment, activating a flash that winds up once it collides with a hard surface in world

DIMENSIONAL DRIFT (X): EQUIP a mask that can see between dimensions. FIRE to drift into Yoru's dimension, unable to be affected or seen by enemies from the outside

“We also wanted Yoru to be an Agent that could create some really HIGH moments throughout the game. The kind of rounds where if you pull everything off correctly you feel like the greatest player ever” said Product Lead for Characters John “Riot MEMEMEMEME” Goscicki in a press release. With abilities that allow you to manipulate sound and location, it saws away at the reliability of some of the core principles of information in a game like VALORANT. How this plays out especially in pro play but also in solo queue should be interesting to follow.

Run it Back Bundle
