VALORANT Agent Deadeye To Be Delayed By Two Weeks
If you had hopes of operating a brand-new mechanical sentinel in VALORANT next week, we have some bad news for you, you're going to have to wait a little bit longer.
The arrival of the new VALORANT Agent Deadeye has been widely anticipated, after being first alluded to in June. As the successor to KAY/O, Deadeye is expected to have a taste for explosive gameplay and large weaponry that can change a game on its head, as seen by his gargantuan gun in his early imagery.
The Riot Games social media team has since been teasing his arrival to coincide with the release of VALORANT Episode 3 Act 3, although the developers may have been a bit too quick to pull the trigger.
According to a now-deleted Arabic blog post from Riot Games, the addition of the VALORANT Agent Deadeye has been delayed beyond Act 3's November 2 release, and is expected to come with the Patch 3.10 update two weeks later.
The blog post was translated to confess that the delay is down to the "clarity of the gameplay," although it's not yet known the exact problem with his kit.
VALORANT Patch 3.10 is proposed for November 16, which will be the arrival date of Deadeye, alongside a range of bug fixes to the other additions that come with a new Act.
The delay comes as the second time in consecutive acts that Riot has failed to make their predetermined deadlines. Act 2 was postponed by two weeks as the developers polished the finer details of the new map, Fracture. However, the deleted blog post didn't offer any suggestions that the entire Act 3 will be delayed, rather just the agent.
Deadeye is also being crafted by legendary League of Legends designer "Riot August", who is behind the hugely popular champions Jhin, Viego, and more. The developers will likely be making sure all the T's are crossed and I's dotted on Deadeye, to make sure he lives up to the hype.
With the Act 2 Battlepass ending on November 2, Riot are still set to roll out the Act 3 update, including the Battlepass, rank reset, and general gameplay balances, on the same day.
For now, though, your best bet is to continue getting to grips with Cypher, Sage, and Killjoy before the Sentinel role gets a spicy new addition.
