Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter is one of the internet's greatest phenomenons, having soared to success in 2020 and become the most-watched female streamer on YouTube and Twitch. The 29-year-old American has overtaken housemate Imane "Pokimane" Anys in viewership and was also crowned as Content Creator of the Year at the Game Awards 2020.

However, with such a presence in the gaming community, Rae's actions and opinions are often scrutinised, and she's lately spoken out about the "horrifying" side of the limelight.

Valkyrae has now come under more pressure from a select side of her audience, as she has split opinions in the Grand Theft Auto V NoPixel roleplay server.

Valkyrae NoPixel Trading Card Drama

Whilst playing in the NoPixel server, Valkyrae stumbled across a special ‘Boe Jangles’ collectible card, which was added to the server as a commemoration to the late Kenny "Blue622" Tancredi who passed away in July 2020. Tancredi, as a long-time member of the NoPixel community, was memorialised through the card, which can be found in special packs with the odds of 1 in 10,000.

However, Valkyrae managed to be one of the lucky ones, and upon finding the card, her reaction was to sell it. Her instant reaction of "What you guys, Boe, I got Boe’s card, this is like the rarest card ever… wait how much does this go for?" managed to upset a portion of viewers.

The GTA RP community seemingly assumed Rae was after a profit on the memorial, although she merely didn't want to keep it with it meaning much more to somebody who had sentimental connections to it.

Taking to her latest stream, she answered back by saying "I was under the impression that I would sell cards, but I don’t know what to do because people are mad at me for wanting to sell the card… but I figured I’d sell it to someone that it would have sentimental value to.”

Ramee defends Valkyrae After Consulting NoPixel Devs

Long-time RP player "Ramee" took to his stream to further defend Rae, branding those who were challenging her as "Braindead".

The streamer showcased a DM from the creator of the card, in which even he defended Rae's selling of the card, knowing that she wouldn't be flogging it to the highest bidder.

Ramee defended Rae, saying: "Stop being braindead chat, I’m not talking to this chat, I’m just talking to the braindead viewers that are making someone not want to play.”

In the meantime, Rae has held onto the card for safekeeping, although it is likely she'll offload it soon to someone who can cherish the memory of Kenny "Blue622" Tancredi.
