Twitch Streamer Furious After Indefinite Ban ‘For Wearing Shorts And Shirt’
In the wake of the maliciously named and furiously contested ‘Hot-Tub Meta’, women have had it rough on Twitch. On the receiving end of blistering hate from even the platform’s biggest names and accusations of manipulating the system on the site, female streamers can’t catch a break - and it’s not just the users of Twitch perpetrating these ideas.
In fact, the platform itself can’t help itself but to discriminate, as one female streamer has been permanently banned from the site for wearing something deemed too offensive.
Twitch Streamer Left Furious After Unfair Ban
Twitch streamer LivStixs has been banned from Twitch permanently for her “inappropriate attire”, and she has hit back at the platform for unfairness and showing favouritism.
After her surprise ban, she took to Twitter to air her frustrations. “I just got an indefinite ban, only my third, and I’m wearing shorts and a shirt… What in the actual f**k @Twitch, was Amo [Amouranth] not on her 5th and it wasn’t even indefinite?” she says.
Click to enlargeIn conversation with Dexerto, she expressed her frustrations with being able to wear similar clothes on stream without receiving any word from Twitch that it wasn’t in line with their terms of service. “I got banned in a shirt that shows cleavage and a pair of jean shorts. Keep in mind, I’ve worn many pairs of shorts like this on Twitch in the past 4 years with no troubles.”
LivStixs Calls Out Twitch For Favouritism
LivStixs, in an interaction with a Twitter user, has suggested that Twitch is guilty of favouritism, as other female Twitch users have got more strikes than her without receiving permabans.
In response to a tweet comparing her situation to Amouranth’s, who saw her fifth Twitch ban reversed, LivStixs sad "And yet I only had two previous 24 hour suspensions and now they hit me with an indefinite ban.
"Meanwhile, Amouranth gets unmanned [sic] after her 5th and Indie [Indiefoxx] got an indefinite after her 5th. The inconsistencies show favouritism and it’s pretty f**ked."
LivStixs has since been unbanned from the platform, which is certainly good news for her and her fans, but the constant bans and unbans from Twitch remain frustrating. LivStixs might be out of Twitch jail for now - but knowing the platform, it might not be long until she’s back in again.
