League of Legends' competitive season has finally kicked off in all the regions, with Europe's LEC being the latest one to start. All the players are coming into the drafting phase with months of preparation and testing new champions/combinations for the upcoming tournament. While these changes occur on the international stage, many champions have come out with excellent results. Some might call them meta picks based on their impressive performances throughout all the regions.

Different regions have different playstyles, and certain champions are played in almost all regions, making them a must-pick in the ranked seasons for the players. These champions have a balanced kit and provide a lot of utility to the team, which aids in them having a higher win-rate than other champions.

Among all the other lanes/roles present in the game, the bottom lane is the only place where two players can play together and support each other to defeat the enemy bot lane duo. Having bot lane pressure is very significant in the current meta, as it gives freedom to the ally jungler to get the dragons and have a substantial advantage on the allies.

A good bot lane duo consists of an AD carry who farms out the lane, deals the primary damage, and supports by healing and keeping his AD carry healthy and safe from ganks. They can also roam to other lanes to catch the enemy laners by surprise and snowball their leads in the matches.

Therefore, if you want to climb the ranked ladder, it's best to do it with a friend playing the bottom lane for your team. The communication between the two players should help make better plays, and ultimately win more matches to climb faster in League of Legends

TOP THREE BOTTOM LANE COMBINATIONS FOR LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

1. Aphelios and Thresh

Starting the list with arguably the most potent bot lane combination seen in Korea's LCK and other regions in the world, Aphelios has been a force to be reckoned with in the competitive League of Legends scene, and the champion has been scoring a lot of pentakills. With the buffs to the ADC items, Aphelios has been unstoppable, with teams either picking him on the first priority or banning him instantly to stop the menace.

However, despite dealing a bulk of the damage in team fights, Aphelios has an obvious flaw in his kit, which is the absence of mobility tools in his arsenal. He can opt for Galeforce, but Kraken Slayer gives a higher damage output, an invaluable tool for team fights. However, after pairing with Thresh, he can take lanterns to safety and go for high-risk high-reward plays. Thresh also scales into the late game and discourages any dives to the allied towers as his ultimate slows enemies for quite some time. They are genuinely an excellent bottom lane combination.

2. Samira and Rell

Coming from Noxus, Samira has been the go-to alternative for AD carries, and she has seen a lot of play in competitive matches. Her ability to deal poke damage while having the ability to chase enemies or disengage a fight is a handy tool in her kit.

She has a bit of everything, and she basically just needs tank support to soak up damage before she goes in with her S-tier ultimate. Her ultimate obliterates enemies, and paired with the item Collector; she can execute enemies as well. Many players have been using Rell with her, as both of the ultimates work in complete synergy with each other. Rell attracts enemies near her, while Samira ults in to clear every enemy in her radius.

Moreover, Rell has a bunch of CC and slows in her kit, which synergises quite well with Samira, and many bottom lane players are using this combination to catch enemies by surprise.

3. Kai'Sa and Leona

Kai'Sa is a popular name in the current meta as she has been seen in almost every region. Her damage scales up into the late game, and her arsenal has a lot of damage in-built. Her abilities upgrade themselves with various statistics like attack damage, speed, and more. The mythic items make it even easier to scale her up into the late game. Her early game is relatively weak compared to other champions. Therefore, she needs special attention with support like Leona, who can buff her up and stun any potential engages from the enemy team.

Moreover, when she enters the mid to late game, she can solo carry matches with Leona landing her ultimate to Kai'Sa, following up with her own ultimate, and blowing up tanks with her passive. Leona can also be replaced with champions like Alistar, or any other bulky tanks with CC to help Kai'Sa reach the late game and take over the match.
