No one can deny that Lara Croft has travelled to a wide-range of locations all around the world from the Nevada Desert, Vilcabamba in Peru, and Cornwall. Now, the butt-kicking archaeologist will soon be swinging her way onto Nintendo Switch consoles.

Crystal Dynamics and Feral Interactive have announced that two classic Tomb Raider games are on the way to Nintendo Switch consoles.

It's surprising that Lara Croft hasn't made her way to Nintendo Switch already, especially with the wealth of huge names that have already made their way onto the console. While fans are still sad that Hogwarts Legacy won't be coming to the Switch, this announcement will certainly make fans happy that Lara Croft will be joining the likes of LEGO Marvel Superheroes and some classic Game Boy games on the console.

Which Tomb Raider Games Are Coming To Switch?

The announcement was made via the official Tomb Raider Twitter page as part of the celebrations surrounding the iconic game franchise's 25th anniversary. The two games which will be coming to the Switch will be Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.

Given the huge amount of classic games in the Tomb Raider franchise, the announcement that these two games have been chosen for the Switch may have come as a surprise to Lara Croft fans. For those who haven't come across the game before, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was released in 2010 and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, its sequel, was released in 2014. The two games differentiate from the other instalments in the franchise as they are isometric action games and Temple of Osiris even gives players the option to co-op with up to four players.

Will Other Tomb Raider Games Be Coming To The Switch?

Sadly, there's been no announcement (at the time of writing), as to whether or not some of the most popular Tomb Raider games will, also, be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Whereas some fans were excited about the news, others were a little disappointed that some of the more recent instalments hadn't been chosen instead, Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris both receiving great reviews at their release. For example, one fan made it clear that they would have been better pleased with either Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, or Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. However, this has sparked some debate as to whether or not these games would be able to run appropriately on the console.

One excited fan responded: "Great! At last we Nintendo fans can play Tomb Raider games in our favorite console! Not the games we really wanted but it’s better than nothing. Now, please, give us the rest of the games too, I want my daily Lara’s dose on the go."

Perhaps, if all goes well for these two games, Crystal Dynamics and Feral Interactive might consider releasing more Tomb Raider games to the console and let Lara really let rip in the world of the Nintendo Switch.
