There's A Playable Skyrim Crossover With The Last Of Us
Sometimes in video games, two worlds come together in perfect harmony. Whether it's Red Dead's John Marston in GTA V, The Witcher's Ciri in Skyrim, or even Thomas the Tank Engine in Resident Evil Village, crossover mods have us questioning why more aren't official.
It's hard to write any post about modding without mentioning Skyrim. Despite it being a decade since the latest chapter of The Elder Scrolls came out, those loyal modders have been keeping the Dragonborn alive and well. Now, we've found an amazing mod that unites The Last of Us and Skyrim in epic style.
What Is The Last Of Us And Skyrim Crossover?
Posting on Reddit, u/TariahX shared a screenshot of The Last of Us' Ellie in Skyrim. The hardened survivor was introduced in 2013's The Last of Us and returned for a much bigger part in 2020's sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 showcased a much darker and mature version of Ellie - which is what we see in the mod.
Other players were impressed by the mods, with one writing, "The accuracy of Ellie is freaking me out." Another added, "If we could combine Skyrim, The Last Of Us 2, Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2, I’d have it made," while a third said, "I have plenty of conflicting emotions right now from this picture. And none of them are bad. This is cool asf."
The mod isn't just The Last of Us and Skyrim though. The OP confirms they made the eyes themselves by also adding a flair of The Witcher to the mod list. If you want to create The Last of Us elements of the mod for yourself, Annie Lenine's "TLOU2 Ellie Head" is available on Patreon.
Are Their More Skyrim Crossovers?
In response to the mod, others started sharing their own ideas for dream crossovers. Someone suggested BioShock in Skyrim, whereas another cried out for Uncharted. With each day, the Skyrim modding community continues to grow - even if Bethesda is trying to kill it off with the Anniversary Edition.
Only recently, we covered another mod that let you add playable Witchers to Tamriel. We also think now is a great time to bring up the Breath of the Wild and Skyrim crossover.
As for Ellie, there are also The Last of Us mods that let you swap Ellie for Joel after THAT big golf club scene, or others that let you play as Ellie in Resident Evil 2.
Whichever way you look at it, Skyrim has transcended the rules of time and space in video games. There's equal hype that Bethesda's Starfield could be the next Skyrim, so let's wait and see if someone mods Big Daddies into space.
