The Apex Legends Global Series Finals took place earlier this week for both North America and Europe. Though the tournament was held online due to the COVID-19 crisis, it was still a great event to watch for fans of the game. In the North American region, Team Solo Mid came out on top in a truly stunning fashion. However, the roster dominated the tournament, for the most part, winning most matches. This marks TSM’s fifth tournament win a row, which only solidifies their claim as the top roster in Apex Legends.

Can TSM keep this dominance up?

The TSM roster hasn’t changed too much over the past year. Here are the three men on the team that has made this run possible:

  • Philip “ImperialHal” Dosen (Captain)
  • Mac Kenzie “Albralelie” Beckwith
  • Jordan “Reps” Wolfe”

Dating back to August of 2019, the roster hasn’t lost a major tournament. They’ve won the EXP Invitational, Preseason Invitational, NA GLL Series, ALGS Major 1, and this week’s ALGS Finals. While it’s true the team has dropped some Twitch Rivals events, we’re not counting those since they’re not considered major events.

It’s a string of dominance rarely seen in esports, as it’s insanely difficult to keep winning at such a high level. Though, with plays like this one from Albralelie, it’s not hard to see why TSM can win so consistently.

However, the big question is, can TSM continue to win events on a consistent basis? They’ve been the best team in Apex Legends since the beginning, so it’s hard to say they can’t. Although, other rosters are catching up, so TSM will need to be on their A-game every time they hop into an event match. If not, rosters like NRG, eUnited, and non-funded teams like Dream Team could overcome them.
