Team Liquid has welcomed some new talent as Jason "Moses" O'Toole has signed on to become the team's new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) coach. Moses' appointment comes in the wake of Eric "adreN" Hoag stepping down as Liquid's head coach.

Moses is something of a big deal in the CS:GO circuit and is arguably one of the best-known casters. Head back to 2015 - when he first started making a name for himself - and chances are you'll find Moses at a big CS:GO event.

Team Liquid announced the news via Twitter and hyped that Moses will help the players on their "journey to reclaim first place". In an intro video, Moses said, "I have been able to watch these guys through most of their careers, so this was an opportunity that popped up and I couldn’t miss it.

"I have had a long history in Counter-Strike, I have been playing it since 1999 so I have been playing it for 20 some years. I am formerly as one of the players North America had in the years of CS 1.6, and then I came back into CS:GO to be a commentator, doing pretty much every major event CS:GO has had for the past five years. I have lived in breathed Counter-Strike for the last five years".

This will be Moses' first CS:GO coaching gig as he takes over from adreN after a year of running the show. Team Liquid has had a particularly rocky 2020 (which is saying something considering the state of the world). As well as a number of notable defeats at the hands of biggest rivals Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid has had a fall from grace and is now #16 in the world on the ESL leaderboards. Moses said his aim is to at least help Liquid secure a win at a major, saying that if he doesn't, he's failed.

Team Liquid also shared its own touching tribute to adreN and thanked him from "the bottom of our hearts". Despite it not being easy for adreN, he did steer Liquid to success and was part of its legacy when it claimed the crown in the ESL Pro League Season 11.

Alongside Moses' new role, Team Liquid has attempted to revive is rosters of players. Following the departure of Nick "nitr0" Cannella after five years of loyal service, Michael "Grim" Wince joined the TL starting lineup. Now, Moses and Team Liquid can put all their ducks in a row and get in shape ahead of ESL One Rio 2020 in November.
