Can Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and VALORANT live harmoniously in the same environment? Will VALORANT kill CS:GO? Which is harder, VALORANT or CS:GO

Few people, if any, truly know the answer to these questions, although they're probably the most asked conundrums in the entire sphere of esports.

It's the latter prose that is now being discussed in the FPS community, as multi-championship winning CS:GO pro, Tarik Celik, claimed that Counter-Strike is "way harder" than VALORANT, calling all those who disagree "zoomers".

Whilst Counter-Strike's gameplay may appear to be simplistic on the eye, elite players will understand the difficulty in timing attacks and making sure the geometry of the map is examined.

With total earnings of $788,000 in CS:GO esports, Tarik has defended his beloved game, albeit with the smug diligence of someone playing devil's advocate.

The tweet has since blown up to over 20,000 likes, 350 comments, and 200 quote tweets, as players on either side of the fence have started throwing rotten tomatoes at each other.

The backlash to Tarik's tweet was inevitable, with VALORANT faithful taking the bite and sticking up for their chosen warrior.

CS:GO fanatics also took to the thread to continue stirring the pot, with mots claiming that their playerbase dominating the VALORANT scene just goes to show why it's an 'easier' game.

Unfortunately, as both games continue to develop, it's doubtful that a fair comparison can ever be made.

One thing is for certain though, the real winner of the debate is Tarik, whose impressions sky-rocketed.
