SypherPK Thinks Fortnite's Latest Chapter Is Ending Soon

Are you ready for madness on the map? While we're too busy tooling up as the Mandalorian, Kratos, the Predator, and Terminator in the current season of Fortnite, famed player Ali "SypherPK" Hassan thinks the hunter-packed Chapter 2 Season 5 is hiding something big out there in the Zero Point. Namely, the pro-player claims that Season 5 is about to bring the whole of Chapter 2 to a close and usher in a new era with a totally different Fortnite Chapter 3.

Some thought the arrival of Galactus, aka the Devourer of Worlds, in the Marvel-themed Chapter 2 Season 4 would include a game-changing event similar to the OG map being swallowed during "The End". The various leaks and theories were wrong (for once). Since then, players have been looking ahead to a presumed Chapter 2 endgame that would follow in the footsteps of Chapter 1 having 10 seasons. Is Epic Games really about to pull the rug from beneath us all?

Why does SpyherPK think Fortnite Chapter 2 is ending soon?

The crux of SkyperPK's theory comes from the fact Fortnite Chapter 1 crammed a whole 10-season cycle into two years. Going with the idea we're going to have another 10-season arc, it would mean we'd be playing the current map - albeit with a few tweaks - through into 2023. Taking 10 seasons as Epic's model, we're currently at the halfway point and have already been playing Chapter 2 for 18 months.

Discussing what's going on in his latest video, Hassan explained, "The timeline, in terms of how long we would be on this map, would push in the two-and-a-half to four-year range if we played out the rest of the seasons on this map. Chapter 1, the old map, took about 24 months to complete. Chapter 2, on the other hand, is already on 18 months. If we go through with all the rest of the seasons until X, we’ll basically be in this chapter until 2023,”

Echoing what most fans are probably feeling, ShyperPK concluded, "So imagine from now until 2023, we're still playing on the same map, with the same rivers, and the same structure. I feel like that's a very long time. It could make things boring without having a full, fresh reset".

If SpyherPK thinks Fortnite Chapter 2 is ending soon, what's next?

Like many, ShpyerPK championed the idea of briniging back the old map. It's no secret that Fortnite started to haemorrhage players with the introduction of Chapter 2, which led to a mass exodus of pro players that even saw Tyler "Ninja" Blevins turn his back on Fortnite for a while. SypherpPK suggested the various looks that Jonesy has had over the seasons suggest he's trapped in his own loop, with Agent Jonesy trying to prevent his alternate self escaping.

Hassan went on to point out the main character of the game isn't actually Jonesy, but the map itself. We've seen this time and time again as the map has evolved, with Fortnite devs themselves even referring to the map as the main character. If Season 5 is the end of Chapter 2, Hassan suggests we'll deal with a post-loop story moving forward. Could this effectively reset the game and bring back the OG map?

Going against the idea of bringing back the old map in its complete form, SypherPK said we still have some old POIs as a point of nostalgic reference. He also pointed out that apart from the flood, we haven't had many game-changing additions to Chapter 2. Even if Season 5 isn't going to completely overhaul the map and end Chapter 2, we're expecting some pretty big changes.

There's the idea that Epic could drastically reduce the length of its seasons, but then again, that would undoubtedly lead to complaints the Battle Pass is too short. Unfortunately, SypherPK stopped short of any more theorisisng and instead asked his fans if he should make a video about what Chapter 3 could include. At the end of the day, Hassan concluded that Chapter 2 Season 5 probably won't end the current chapter, meaning yes, we're possibly going to be stuck in our own loop until 2023. Well, better settle in for the long run!
