San Francisco Shock Part Ways With Striker

San Francisco Shock has stayed true to their electrifying name, as they have announced the departure of back-to-back World Championship winner Nam-joo "Striker" Kwon.

Striker, often referred to as the greatest ever Tracer in Overwatch, has now confirmed his retirement from the game, at the age of 21.

The South Korean DPS monster has racked up $660,000 in prize money in a four-year career, which saw him become a pivotal part of the San Francisco Shock roster after joining from Boston Uprising in 2018.

One of Striker's more notable achievements aside from his two gold medals comes from his time at Boston, having been a part of the first team to go a full stage undefeated, as seen in the inaugural season's Stage 3, where they went 10-0.

As for what's next for the FPS titan, a career in VALORANT seems probable, with age on his side.

Former San Francisco Shock teammates Seonchang "ANS" Lee, Jay "sinatraa" Won, and Andrej "babybay" Francisty have all made the switch to VALORANT from Overwatch in recent times, which would make Striker the fourth former Shock player to make the transition.

It has not been confirmed what Striker's next steps are, although a reunion party would be interesting should Sinatraa be allowed to return to competing.
