Stardew Valley's Huge Update 'Possibly' Coming To Consoles Soon
The open-ended country-life RPG Stardew Valley is a farming sim for the ages, first released in 2016 by developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the game has just received a massive update - on PC only.
On December 21, 2020, ConcernedApe revealed the gigantic 1.5 content update, saying "this update adds some significant “late-game” content [and is] by far the biggest solid chunk of new content that’s been added to the game since launch."
The update includes QOL changes from everything such as new character creation options, advanced game options, moveable beds, to the biggest change of all - ducks can now swim!
There is also new gameplay - including new goals, types of item, and character events.
The game is currently available to play on PC, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, iOS, and Android, but this update will only satiate the Windows fans of Stardew Valley.
However, a tweet from Barone himself has given console players some hope for the future.
As Barone himself states, he hopes the update will be ready for consoles (sorry, mobile players) by the end of January 2021. Mobile players will have to wait a little longer for any news regarding their very own huge content update for their version of Stardew Valley, and as Barone himself states on the official website - "there’s no timeline yet".
Just as with the 1.5 update for PC, console players will also have to put up with numerous bug fixes following the install.
Until more news is released, console and mobile players will have to put up with not sitting in chairs, and a lack of fish tanks.
