Fast And Furious Mod Brings Dom Toretto To Star Wars Battlefront
It's time to take off to that galaxy far, far away, but this time, we're doing it in a nitros-charged Nissan Skyline. While there's little left that Universal's Fast and Furious franchise hasn't already done, this year's F9 even took the series to space for the first time ever. Now, someone has imagined what it would be like if Dom Toretto joined Star Wars.
In the long history of Star Wars games, the revived Battlefront series has achieved critical acclaim. Following EA DICE's Star Wars Battlefront in 2015, a sequel came out in 2017 and upped the action. Despite THAT loot box scandal with the action shooter, Battlefront II was praised as a war epic that explored some of the most famous battles to grace the franchise. However, could Dom Toretto have turned the tide?
What is the Fast and Furious and Star Wars crossover?
Posting on the Battlefront subreddit, u/RyZe26, showed off the fan mod that swaps the horned Darth Maul for Dom Toretto's signature bald head. In case you weren't sure this was a Maul mod, Toretto is seen spinning Maul's iconic double-ended lightsaber. While Dom is used to being behind the wheel of a car, he makes light work of Rebel forces as he slices through them with ease.
Proving that Dom really will do anything for family, the brief snippet is set to a rousing soundtrack of Don Omar and Tego Calderón's "Bandolero" that's become the unofficial soundtrack of the Fast movies. The track has gone viral recently, thanks to the release of F9 and a surge in viral memes on TikTok about Dom's obsession with family.
Can you download the Fast and Furious and Star Wars crossover mod?
Battlefront and FF fans alike were impressed by the mod. One Sith supporter wrote, "You done it. You SOB's have finally done it. Just equip the card family and he will be unstoppable. So much for balance in the force and balance in the game". Another added, "The Force and the Furious", while a third joked, "Sneak peek on Fast and Furious 48".
For those who can't wait to swoosh their saber as Darth Diesel, we're at a loss on whether you can actually download it. A quick search on Nexus Mods comes up with no results, suggesting that the OP might be keeping their Toretto mod to themselves. Thankfully, Nexus Mods is packed with other Battlefront mods, with highlights including a zombie infection and one that adds Halo's Master Chief.
Sadly, EA DICE has stopped work on Battlefront II, meaning April 2020's Rogue One DLC was the last to officially join the game. As for Fast and Furious, the success of F9 has helped solidify plans that at least two more movies are in the works. While we might laugh at the idea of Darth Diesel, we've learned to expect the unexpected with the Fast and Furious franchise.
