Spotify has officially entered the world of esports by signing an exclusive multi-year deal with Riot Games, making the audio streaming service the hub of all things League of Legends (LoL). Better yet, the company has announced the inception of a new League of Legends podcast - just in time for Worlds 2020.

The new partnership will see more audio content, with one new launch being a brand new show: Untold Stories: Top Moments from Worlds. It will be a nine-episode series leading up to the 10th League of Legends championship, which will take place on September 25.

Sponsorship from Spotify will see the company become the exclusive "audio service provider" in the build up to Worlds, which is a perfect partnership considering how well the game's existing soundtrack playlists already do for them.

Announcing the official partnership on its social media channels, Spotify said: "We’re excited to announce our partnership with Riot Games as the official audio-streaming partner for League of Legends. Dive into our new hub for all things League audio."

Spotify will also receive an in-game banner, that will show up during esports events, as well as continuing to populate the already existing “This Is League of Legends” and the “Official League of Legends" playlists with new music and audio.

Riot recently confirmed that despite new character Yone proving a hit with players, he would not be viable to play during the Championships as there isn't enough time to iron out potential glitches and mishaps that could ruin the game's integrity. With Yone being unavailable during playoffs, it makes sense to nix him from the competition, instead opting for Lilia who previously didn't make the cut in last year's tournaments.

Riot confirmed this news, giving its reasons as "New champions and VGUS must be enabled for playoffs in all four of the top regions in order to be playable at the next international tournament".
