Spider-Man 2 Trailer Finally Reveals Release Window
Insomniac Games is swinging into action with Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and as a follow-up to 2018's Spider-Man, we're hoping the developer can weave another chart-topping title.
While we're promised the superhero showstopper is coming in 2023, Insomniac is still holding out on giving us a concrete Spider-Man 2 release date. Thankfully, a new advert has at least given a release window.
What Is The Spider-Man 2 Release Window?
Although some originally thought the leaked ad was fake, it's been confirmed as the real deal. The live-action trailer teases the return of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, with the dynamic duo formally working together to save New York City.
The ad dropped during an ESPN broadcast in Australia - confirming a "spring 2023" release window. Before you go running out looking for pre-orders, remember that Austalia's seasons work differently. "Spring 2023" means fall 2023 in territories like Europe and the USA.
It's clear that Insomniac is starting the marketing machine for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, meaning eager players are holding out hope for a gameplay trailer in the near future.
What Else Do We Know About Spider-Man 2?
The trailer pretty much confirms that Peter and Miles have teamed up with each other, which was already thought to be the case. It's unclear how gameplay will work. Will we play different missions as each of them or be able to freely swap between the pair?
As for who the boys are going up against, the first trailer hinted at the arrival of Sergei Kravinoff, aka Kraven the Hunter. The real big bad is Venom, with the legendary Tony Todd confirmed as the sinister symbiote.
We knew things were ticking along nicely in terms of development, with Peter Parker voice actor Yuri Lowenthal telling ComicBookMovie.com, "I've still got a little bit to do. It's a massive game so I'm still doing a little bit of work.
"I know they're confident about their release date and Insomniac has always been good about that. Obviously, I can't really talk about the game much, but I will tell you that it's astonishing."
Lowenthal saying Spider-Man 2 has big shoes to fill, he teases that the sequel really will be bigger and better than the first game and 2020's Miles Morales.
