Though last year saw some pretty amazing PlayStation-exclusive titles, 2023's exclusive reputation for the console is resting on one game alone.

Spider-Man 2 is set to be a pretty massive deal, with its two predecessors serving as the very best representation of the web-crawling heroes that we've seen in video games yet, and now as Venom steps up to the plate as the game's antagonist, it's expected to be the most impressive game that the series has seen yet.

But, so far, we're left in some kind of release date limbo, as we know to expect the game this year, but with no kind of specifics when it comes to a date. But it looks like that limbo might be about to end.

Tony Todd may have just leaked Spider-Man 2's release window

Fans haven't wasted time in discussing how great they expect the game's Venom to be, as he's being played by horror legend and Candyman himself Tony Todd - and thankfully he's given fans another reason to be glad that he's attached.

Replying to fans discussing how the game can't come soon enough, he entirely unpromptedly reveals Spider-Man 2's release month.

"Looks like September!" he says. "Massive publicity coming in August. Commercials start dropping in August so I’m told. Hold on to your … and hold breath! Gonna be necessary." Insomniac Games have got to be scrambling right now.

Surprisingly, the tweet is still live, and Tony Todd doesn't seem to give a damn. And he's followed the tweet up with something pretty bizarre.

Tony Todd on Spider-Man 2 - "no more hints"

After he got a lot of attention for his tweet, Todd goes on to post a picture of himself hanging out in a pool, with the caption "No more hints about #Spiderman2 it was all a fever dream Blame it on jet lag who knows I might not even b #Venom." He then follows up with "My lips are now underwater." Um… okay.

We're not ones to question Todd, but it's a pretty strange string of tweets to slap on the internet on a regular Tuesday. You enjoy your swim, Tony, and let Insomniac pick up the pieces. That's our Venom right there.
