According to GGRecon’s sources, Niclas "sHockWave" Jensen has signed with the Philadelphia Fusion. The player drew the interest of numerous teams in the off-season and remained contested over the last couple of weeks.

The Philadelphia Fusion have not yet responded to a request for comment by GGRecon.

sHockWave had been brought into the Overwatch League mid-season for the Vancouver Titans for which he was a standout player for. As GGRecon reported at the time, the player had signed an unusual contract without a team option to extend his contract to the 2021 season despite only being signed mid-way through the third season. A buyout therefore didn’t have to be paid by the Fusion.

With a unique hero pool spanning hit scan and projectile DPS heroes, the young Dane had turned heads in the 2020 season, performing exceedingly well despite the Titans struggle in the regular-season standings.

Finishing first in the regular-season standings and fourth in the season playoffs during the third season, the Fusion are considered one of the top franchises in the Overwatch League. They are the only team to have kept their inaugural season starting DPS line Jae-hyeok "Carpe" Lee and Josue "Eqo" Corona all the way into season 4, which sHockWave will be playing alongside off. The team had also announced the signing of main tank Dong-gyu "Mano" Kim who joined from the New York Excelsior.

Philadelphia Fusion's roster

  • Main tank: Dong-gyu "Mano" Kim
  • Off-tank: Gael "Poko" Gouzerch
  • DPS: Jae-hyeok "Carpe" Lee
  • DPS: Josue/Josh "Eqo" Corona
  • DPS: Hee-su "Heesu" Jeong
  • DPS: Niclas "sHockWave" Jensen
  • Flex support: Kyung-bo "Alarm" Kim
  • Main support: Daniel "FunnyAstro" Hathaway
