It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Midgard. If you'd ever wondered what a giant gingerbread Kratos from God of War would look like, wonder no more.

As the snow starts to fall and we get ready for the holiday season, there's a growing trend of crossing over video games and Christmas. While some of us might just get a standard gingerbread cutter and paint a red scar on it - branding it Kratos - Sony has taken it one step further.

What Does The Gingerbread Kratos Look Like?

This impressive build is part of a partnership between Sony and Swedish tech retailer Webhallen. The pair have commissioned the PlayStation Gingerbread City from artist Caroline Eriksson. Eriksson has quite the niche, as she specialises in gingerbread sculptures. She must be busy this time of year.

In the PlayStation Gingerbread City, we see modern mascots including Horizon's Aloy, Ratchet and Clank's Ratchet, and the aforementioned Kratos. Despite Microsoft's recent acquisitions, Sony still has an impressive catalogue of PlayStation exclusives.

The PlayStation Gingerbread City makes great models of the three, with an adorable Ratchet being a highlight. However, some are a little unnerved by Kratos. With his cold, gingerbread-filled, stare, it's far more terrifying than his video game counterpart.

Others have shared their terror and gingerbread Kratos. One commenter wrote, "No offense, but Kratos looks a little weird," which prompted the hilarious response of, "You would too if you were made out of gingerbread."

What Other Sculptures Has Eriksson Made?

If you head over to Eriksson's Instagram, you can see she's an expert at creating pop culture icons in gingerbread form. Alongside a supersized root from Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man's Carnage, and Darth Vader, our favourite is the incredibly detailed Predator.

Seeing Kratos in gingerbread only gets us more pumped for God of War Ragnarok's arrival next year. The much-hyped sequel to 2018's God of War was due to land this year, but like so many AAA games, it's been pushed from its original release.

With 2018's God of War even being dubbed the best video game of all time, there's a lot riding on Ragnarok. Kratos is firmly among the glitterati of PlayStation icons, and although some of us might be creeped out by this biscuit boogeyman, we're got to admit it's a pretty amazing build.
