Skyrim Fan Makes Photo-Realistic Portrait Of Serana And It's Incredible
A Skyrim fan has recreated the ancient pure-blood vampire and the daughter of Lord Harkon and Valerica herself, Serana, as a photo-realistic portrait.
How Was The Photo-Realistic Image Of Serana Made?
Posting the image in the Skyrim Reddit, user u/asher_irontooth wrote: "Realistic portrait of Serana created with Artbreeder and photo-editing (second attempt - still not perfect, but I think I got a little closer this time)."
However, as they alluded to, this isn't their first attempt. Five months ago, Asher gave it a go - and you can see how much they've improved in less than half a year...
At the time, lots of Reddit users gave feedback on how they could improve, and it looks like they really took it on board. When one person simply said she looked like a 'modded' Serana, Asher replied: "Fair. I really tried to base it on her vanilla features, but it's pretty hard to get Artbreeder to do what you want it to sometimes. I'm also a little bit face-blind, which is part of why I got into doing this sort of thing - it really makes me notice different types of facial features more, and what they look like in different combinations. What do you think would make her look more like Serana?
"Personally, my main issues with it still are the nose, which I had to almost entirely photoshop, since Artbreeder seems to really like generating tiny, downturned noses; and the cheek shape, which I already messed with a lot but can't seem to get right. So constructive criticism would be more than welcome here."
So as you can see, they've spent a long time on Artbreeder and photo-editing to try and get it spot on. Personally, I think they nailed it.
What Are People Saying About The Photo-Realistic Portrait Of Serana?
When you put your artwork out there, you're going to get mixed responses. One person (who, at the time of writing, has 104 upvotes) wrote: "This photo is missing a reanimated draugr in the background." Asher replied: "I'll keep that in mind for my inevitable third attempt. Or maybe an undead chicken, she seems to like those too."
Many of the comments also said it would be easier to distinguish her if she had red eyes, fangs, and her braid. We can't wait to see Asher's next attempt.
