Some PlayStation Players Will Be Getting Stray For Free At Launch
When it comes to indie games, few upcoming releases have the same powering hype as Stray.
It's a simple premise, seemingly executed with absolute precision - you play as a stray cat (with a little backpack, no less) on an adventure across a post-apocalyptic world with only a drone, B-12, for company.
The game looks like an absolute delight, and even though we've seen cat games before, few have had this intriguing setting paired with Stray's attention to detail. It looks like an incredibly special experience - but fans have been worried that it was set for a delay.
A lack of any real information pertaining to the game was making players nervous, but thankfully, we know all that we need to know - and it's coming very, very soon.
Stray Trailer Reveals Release Date
A brand-new trailer for Stray was revealed at last night's PlayStation State of Play conference, and it offered a peek into the dense and fascinating world that you'll be able to trot through.
It's certainly nice to see more of the upcoming game, but that's not the most important part, as nervous fans had their fears quashed, as the end of the trailer announced that the game would be coming on July 19 - only next month.
This is huge news, especially as fans have worried for so long - but it's nice to know that the game is only right around the corner.
Cat owners and gamers alike are now gearing up to shovel money into the pockets of BlueTwelve studio, but as it turns out, not every PlayStation user will have to.
Stray Is Coming To PlayStation Plus Extra And Premium
As an added bonus for PlayStation users, and even after it was made clear that day-one releases on streaming services were not a part of the plan for the upcoming change to PlayStation Plus, it has been revealed that users on the Extra and Premium plans of PS Plus will be able to play Stray completely for free on release day.
This news is huge, not just for Stray fans, but the wider PlayStation world - as it means that Sony could have changed their minds on day-one releases.
Either way, the game landing so soon, and free for some users, is incredible news. Worry no longer, Stray fans, because it's only around the corner now.
