Some Netflix Users Already Have Access To Its Gaming Service
Netflix’s move into the world of video games is bound to be a bold one. Though Amazon Prime has its toes dipped into the world of streaming with its collaboration with Twitch, no film and TV streaming service has yet been willing to extend into the world of video games - until now.
Netflix recently announced it was planning on entering the competitive world of mobile gaming, presenting its own games available for Netflix subscribers at no extra cost. It was an interesting prospect - and seemingly one that they’re following through on.
Netflix Trials Gaming On Netflix Mobile
It has been revealed that Netflix’s foray into the gaming world has seen a limited rollout in Poland, and is already getting fans involved with some mobile games. It was announced on the Netflix Polska Twitter account, and then quote tweeted by Netflix Geeked, who offered a little more insight into how it works.
“Let’s talk Netflix and gaming”, the tweet begins. “Today members in Poland can try Netflix mobile gaming on Andriod with two games, Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3. It’s very, very early days and we’ve got a lot of work to do in the months ahead, but this is the first step.”
This is something that Netflix has been interested in taking up for some time, so it’s nice to see this idea come to fruition.
What Can We Expect From Netflix Gaming?
The tweet has received a follow-up that details exactly what users can expect from Netflix Gaming. The Geeked account has confirmed that all games are ad-free with no in-app purchases, and that all of them you’ll see on your Netflix homepage will be free of charge if you already have a Netflix account.
Sounds like a pretty good deal, especially if a game you already wanted to play ends up arriving on the homepage.
The world of game streaming is seemingly getting bigger by the day, and especially for gaming fans who use mobile, this is bound to be a great addition to that world. Fingers crossed it’s not just Stranger Things titles, though - and given Netflix’s connection with The Witcher… you know where we’re going with this. Netflix, make it happen.
