Some Call Of Duty: Vanguard Copies Have Shipped Early
Fans have been waiting patiently for Call of Duty: Vanguard's release. We’ve had World War II shooters in the past - and even ones from Call of Duty that defined its presence in the gaming world for some time - but Sledgehammer Games has promised that we’ve never seen it quite like this.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is attempting to break new ground and change the way we see shooters of its setting. Fans vary from cautiously curious to foaming at the mouth with excitement. We’ve waited some time to see exactly how the game is - and it looks like we might not have much longer to find out more. Because some fans are getting their copies early.
Call Of Duty Vanguard Physical Copies Are Already With Fans
As is often the case with game launches, some players are receiving their copies of the game right now - a full four days before the game’s official release. A now-deleted tweet from leaker TheMW2Ghost revealed an image of a PS5 copy of the game with the caption "copies of #Vanguard are still out in the wild", indicating that a player has sent an image to them to reveal that they have their copy.
The game is indicated by the white PS5 banner across the top, while the copy looks to be the standard edition of the title.
This means that there could be more standard PS5 copies of the game dotted around the world somewhere in the hands of fans who have bypassed the waiting period. Lucky sods.
Should We Worry About Vanguard Spoilers Now?
Of course, it’s exciting that players are getting their copies now, but it does leave room for the worry that players could be knocking out the game’s campaign before release day in order to spoil it online - but frankly, it’s unlikely.
Despite how interesting the Vanguard campaign looks, the focus of Call of Duty has been every mode other than a campaign for years now. It’d take a very specific spitefulness for someone to finish the campaign to spoil it before launch - but if you’re really protective of the sanctity of enjoying it yourself for the first time, it might be worth muting a few words on Twitter now, just in case.
No one knows what these gamers are capable of, and if there’s even a slim chance of them ruining Vanguard for you if you’ve been excited about it for some time, then exercise some serious caution.
Though spoilers could be worrying, it’s reassuring to see Vanguard copies unleashed into the wild, and it’s great to know that it’s actually coming very soon. It might just be making us itch for its release on November 5, but chances are, it’ll be worth the wait.
