The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim turns 10 this November, and quite frankly, it’s still one of those games you can come back to time and time again and discover new details with every play through. Bethesda's fantasy RPG is a Pandora’s box of secrets and intrigue that often spills over the side, offering players a near unlimited approach to gameplay.

Skyrim remains the game for the intrigued, and one secret that has only recently been discovered proves that there’s so much in the game that we simply pass it by.

The quest titled “With Friends Like These…” is one that’s bamboozled Skyrim players for some time. Its moral quandary has perplexed fans by offering them the choice of three bagged, gagged, and tied people to kill under the suggestion that one is a wanted criminal. Of course, the do-gooder will often kill the Dark Brotherhood’s Astrid and follow breadcrumbs back to her base and eliminate the brotherhood once and for all - but many players will partake in the delicious and evil killing of one of three subjects.

Once one of the subjects are killed, Astrid refuses to tell you if your decision was the correct one, and before a big discovery, that was the end of it - but one player has found that one of the most useless spells in the game is the key to discovering the secret.

Reddit user DarkSteveYT has discovered that using the Clairvoyance spell will reveal that Vasha, the third captive, is actually the wanted criminal. A blue stream of magic points straight to them, giving you the answer before you even need to speak to any of the victims.

It’s a fascinating trick that has brought an end to an almost 10-year mystery, that proves the incredibly secretive nature of Skyrim. There could well be secrets still left in the game - but we won’t ever know about them until someone happens upon them. Spooky.
