We're back with more news from The Sims, and frankly, this one is "Simsly" the best we've seen in a while. While there's a small subsect of the streaming community that's happy to while away the hours watching your streams on The Sims, it's not exactly the most entertaining genre out there.

Now, one clever gamer has come up with a way to play The Sims in real life - letting you control his every move. Well, you're braver than we are. In a Sims world controlled by sadistic gamers, we don't imagine it'll be long until the Grim Reaper comes knocking.

If you thought conspiracies about "haunted" versions of The Sims or someone spouting Simlish in ASMR was the weirdest thing you'd see this year, along comes someone else with a unique idea to keep Maxis' simulation series fresh after 21 years. If the power of playing God wasn't good enough on your PC, what about in real life?

How do you play The Sims in real life?

At the core of it, The Sims is effectively a video game version of kids with a magnifying glass and burning ants. You'd be lying if you said you'd never got a morbid bit of pleasure watching your Sims argue with each other, wet themselves, or swim to death after you've taken the steps away from the pool.

Bringing this concept into the real-world - and giving us a terrifying look at our own mortality - Twitch user Jerma985 offered himself forward for an experiment where viewers can control everything he does. From deciding what he wears to the office to when he can take a shower, the three-hour stream was typically chaotic.

The attention to detail was stunning, and while Jerma clearly has a modest Sim wage thanks to only having two rooms, he made the most of his humble abode. As well as homaging the Create A Sim selector to choose his outfit, there were all the mod cons a Sim could need. Highlights include peeing on a stool (see above), the bizarre moment fans bought him a popcorn maker, and being haunted by a pair of Tragic Clowns.

Will Jerma985 play The Sims in real life again?

This real-life Truman Show is a verified hit, with "The Jerma985 Dollhouse" getting over 600,000 views on the first stream. Even though plenty of us still love The Sims and have been enjoying the new countryside expansion, there's something about seeing a live human lament your decisions that's really satisfying.

If you were suitably intrigued or creeped out by the stream, Jerma985 is giving you another chance to play God. Better yet, he's confirmed he'll be back on Twitch this weekend for more of the same. "We’re gonna dial it up every single day, every day is going to get more ridiculous," warned Jerma. "I think everything worked out very well. We’ll see the upgraded house in a couple of days, with even more wacky, wild stuff!"

While he hasn't revealed what's next, we'd like to imagine he takes a left out of the book of the many expansion packs. Maybe Jerma could get a dog like in Unleashed, imagine he's going to Hogwarts in Makin' Magic, or apply to be on a reality TV show like Superstar. Either way, you've got us hooked and we can't wait to see what we force him to do next.
