Shroud Says Halo Infinite Is Making A 'Big Mistake'
Halo Infinite's multiplayer has been an absolute treat for everyone who's got their mitts on it so far. It seems to be a great return to form for the series, and it certainly helps that it was a surprise launch by 343 Industries during Xbox's 20th-anniversary celebration, and is completely free-to-play.
In theory, Halo Infinite has a recipe for a sure-fire success for the series which has been in need of a little bit of love for some time now, and it's working so far. That is, it's working for most of us - as one gaming pro has brought the Halo multiplayer beta into question, and think it's doing something wrong.
Shroud Is Confused By Halo's Headshots
Playing the new Halo Infinite beta on a Twitch stream, Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek has aired his grievances with the franchise's system for headshots - or lack thereof.
Asking his chat if headshots "still don't do anything in this game", and they respond, but not with the answer he was looking for. "10/10 feature, really."
He continues, arguing that the game's shield system doesn't work for modern audiences. "Every shot should matter, not just the last one. [...] I get that it's Halo. It's mindless like Call of Duty, Battlefield 2042… and I get why people would want [the shield system], but I think it's just wrong." Sounds like he's not a fan.
But, thankfully, it's not all doom and gloom with Shroud, as he actually rather enjoys the rest of the game.
Shroud Thinks Halo Infinite Looks Great
Despite his qualms with the franchise's headshot and shield systems, Shroud certainly seems to be enjoying the game so far. Maybe the video in which he slates the shields being titled "HALO INFINITE IS AMAZING!" was a bit of a dead giveaway, but later in the video he goes on to praise the game's visuals.
"The game does look really nice", he says. "I'm on low [settings] and it looks awesome." Hey, it's something!
Shroud might not be the last word on Halo just yet, but at least he's having fun like the rest of us. We'll see how he reacts when someone grapples onto his Banshee.
