Niclas "sHockWave" Jensen could enter free agency during the 2021 Overwatch League off-season with the opening of the free agency signing window on October 23, 2020.

A source with knowledge of the situation indicated the player is not currently committed to the Titans for the 2021 season, also noting it’s irregular for a player to be signed to a one-year contract without at least a team option for the following season. As announced in an update for the off-season rules shared by the league on August 11, 2020, the Titans can potentially still attempt to negotiate with Jensen to extend his contract between now and October 23, 2020. If the player doesn’t agree to an extension, he would subsequently become a free agent upon that date.

Due to his individual performance on a wide range of heroes during his time in Overwatch League, it is expected that Jensen will receive offers from teams across the league. With Jensen entering free agency, the Vancouver Titans are expected to lose out on a considerable buyout sum or another year of play from their rookie star player.

Jensen had been one of the newly signed rookies that had joined the Vancouver Titans after the team had let go of their entire Korean roster over a dispute of the provided accommodations in May this year.

Quickly becoming the crown jewel of the new team made up of talent from North American contenders, Jensen put up great numbers for the Titans. After several performances in which the team managed to punch above their weight, the newly formed team even managed to qualify for the Summer Showdown as the fourth seed, though lost to the Paris Eternal in the first round of bracket play.
