There's more bad news for Call of Duty: Warzone players who are keen to explore the game's new map. While we can't wait to explore Caldera, Sledgehammer Games has just disabled its Secrets of the Pacific preview event in Vanguard.

Caldera is set to replace the Verdansk-shaped holes in our hearts, and Sledgehammer Games has slowly been releasing information about the map - much to the excitement of fans. One Call of Duty player even took it upon themselves to unlock Caldera while playing Vanguard's version of the classic Shipment map.

To help build up the hype, Sledgehammer Games held the Secrets of the Pacific event to provide players with an exclusive look at the new map. However, the developer announced it has disabled the event due to technical problems.

Secrets Of The Pacific: Why Has It Been Disabled?

On November 24, Sledgehammer Games explained that it was "investigating widespread crashing issues in Vanguard". The developer then took to Twitter to announce that the decision had been made to disable the Secrets Of The Pacific event to "squash this bug". Vanguard players had been reporting they had come across crashing problems in the game, but Warzone seemed to be in the clear.

Some Vanguard players went into further detail about the sort of bugs they have been experiencing. For example, one gamer found that they were continuously being kicked out of the multiplayer mode, while another encountered a problem when in single-player mode: "How can I complete the Secrets of the Pacific challenges when one of them is to play with your clan 5 times? I'm a solo player without a clan!"

Others were also worried that the bug fix might affect their progress with the challenges they'd already completed. However, Sledgehammer quickly responded with assurance that player progress will be kept.

Sledgehammer gave no indication as to when the event will start up again. However, as Caldera is set to be released to Vanguard players on December 8 - and then other players 24 hours later - it's likely that Sledgehammer will be working hard to fix the bug as soon as possible.

Set up as a crossover between Vanguard and Warzone, the Secrets Of The Pacific Event was due to give Vanguard players an exclusive look at the new Warzone map - including its sun-kissed beaches, towering palm trees, and crisp blue waters. Oh, and the odd Spitfire here and there. You can check out everything we know about the new Warzone Pacific map right here
