Riot Games Rolling Back 'Nightmare' VALORANT Update

The latest VALORANT update saw multiple changes come to agents we have grown to love, as well as introduce a fierce new competitor in the form of Skye. Various new balances have been implemented, and whilst they were intended to improve the game, players have unearthed various glitches that have been detrimental to the experience.

Glitches and bugs, such as Sova's Drone exploit, have caused the VALORANT developers to brandish the 1.11 patch as a "technical nightmare". Riot Games has now reversed the update in various regions and switched back to the 1.10 patch -  which was much smoother. This means that until the 1.11 patch is cleaned up, selected regions will not be able to play with the newest Agent, Skye.

Riot Games took to Twitter to state: "Real talk: 1.11 has been a technical nightmare. In 30 minutes, we'll be rolling back the patch for North America, Brazil, and LATAM (one at a time). We're also delaying all other regions until we get a fix. We know we've said this every patch, but thanks for sticking by.

"We'll redeploy later in the week once we can figure out a less disruptive time for the VALORANT First Strike Qualifiers (and have a solution, obviously). If you started the Skye character contract, you won't be able to progress until we patch again".

The First Strike qualifiers have already begun in selected regions; however, Riot is hoping that Skye will be available across the board for people to use in the Regional Playoffs, should players opt to.

As a good agent for both healing and adding recon to her game through her ultimate move "seekers", Skye could add an element of surprise to the teams competing in the First Strike event, with a limited time period to figure out how to effectively counter the new agent.

Riot will look to re-release patch 1.11 in the coming week. Hopefully, this time around, it will be much smoother.
