New Rockstar Job Listing Points At GTA 6's Imminent Arrival
It's a new week, a new Grand Theft Auto rumour. Like clockwork, we've got another potential release window for GTA 6. While some look ahead to the remastered version of GTA V, others are frustrated that it's been nearly eight years since we got a new entry in the long-running franchise.
As tempers reach boiling point that we still might be years away from GTA 6, a new job listing from Rockstar has teased an imminent arrival of the next game. Alongside whispers of a new Bully game, players are obsessed with the idea that Rockstar has been quietly tinkering away on GTA 6 in secret.
How does a Rockstar job listing point to GTA 6?
Over on Reddit, u/worldlovespain pointed out that Rockstar is looking for a Live Operations Coordinator. This backs up a previous claim that GTA 6 will be announced through a massive marketing campaign that will tie into GTA Online and the enhanced version of GTA V.
The official listing on the Rockstar site reads: "This role will be responsible for executing all in-game marketing campaigns for Red Dead Online and Grand Theft Auto Online. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Soho, Manhattan studio.
"We work closely with teams across all of publishing and the worldwide development studios to ensure seamless execution of plans internally, in our game titles and across the world, including the always on marketing of our Online game titles, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online".
Aside from a November 11 release for the Expanded and Enhanced GTA V, Rockstar has remained typically tight-lipped on what to expect. A prevalent rumour is that it will contain some major connections to GTA 6 and reveal the setting of the next game. Then again, the fact Rockstar is looking for a Live Operations Coordinator could hint at GTA 6 coming sooner rather than later.
Is GTA 6 about to be released?
The problem with GTA 6 rumours is that they're just that. More often than not, supposed "leaks" from insiders are quickly debunked. A bit of speculation is all well and good, but only recently, an apparent map reveal was proven to be fake. Personally, we think it makes sense for Expanded and Enhanced to reveal GTA 6.
Imagine the sales of the next-gen GTA V if it also contained an expansion that led into GTA 6. Unfortunately, we just don't see Rockstar suddenly dropping GTA 6 out of nowhere. The games have become known for viral marketing and causing a stir before their release, so it doesn't make sense to miss out on all that pre-game hype. Added to this, sorry, GTA 6 racing into our lives in 2021 is another "I wish" scenario.
As with all things GTA 6, take everything with a pinch of salt. The only way you're probably going to know what's going on is to land the role of Live Operations Coordinator. Either way, it sounds like Rockstar is planning something big for GTA 6's eventual release.
