The first free-to-play season of Rocket League is drawing to a close, and Psyonix has already set their eyes on Season 2. The developers have revealed that the succeeding season will bring a barrel load of new customisable features and improvements to the HUD and shop.

One of the new things coming in Rocket League Season 2 is a brand spanking arena that will luminate players' roads to becoming a supersonic legend. Neon Fields will land on December 9 and boasts a stunning array of UV lights in a hippy and trippy concert vibe. Hosted in the dark, Neon Fields differs from the fan-favourite Neo Tokyo (post-flattening) with a cleaner background and colourful stripes placed along the key areas of the pitch.

With the launch of Season 2 on December 9, Rocket League will also be introducing Goal Music, which, when combined with an explosion of your choice, will allow you to score and celebrate in style. As much as Rocket League focuses on raw mechanics, dunking in style adds flair points and excitement to the game and this new inclusion will add a multitude of elegance and aptness to one's game.

The developers also revealed within their blog post that the esports shop will be revamped, with more details to follow this week. The esports shop has been one of the most neglected areas of the menus, with players, fans, and organisations hoping that the system can be switched up to allow more people to represent their teams on the field. With only a select few components of a teams merchandise available each day, the call is for bundles or a larger selection to become available.

More details are set to be released regarding Season 2 in the coming days, so make sure you take five minutes out of flip resetting to keep an eye out for further news,
