Rocket League Championship Series Launch Season 2021-22 - Format And Prize Pool
Psyonix and Epic Games have announced the full details of the Rocket League Championships Series 2021-22 Season, including a whole new revamped format, a whopping $6,000,000 prize pool, and four brand-new, long-awaited regions.
The competitive season of Rocket League esports will kick off on October 15, with a Regional Qualifier for North America, bringing the RLCS back to our screens after four months of patience.
RLCS 2021-22 Season Format
With much discussion surrounding the format of RLCS X, which saw the whole League Play system scrapped in favour of three regional splits with four events in each, Epic and Psyonix have continued to fine-tune their new methods.
The RLCS 2021-22 Season format will persist with three splits over the calendar year, although minor adaptations have been made following feedback from last years' hectic schedule.
RLCS 2021-22 Season World Championships
Despite the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic which hindered Season X, the RLCS 2021-22 Season will have a World Championships back on LAN.
RLCS 2021-22 Season Adds Africa, Asia, And Middle East Regions
Africa, Middle East, APAC North, and APAC South will be added to the RLCS. All four regions will have a shot at the World Championships.
RLCS 2021-22 Season Prize Pool
The overall prize pool for the RLCS 2021-22 Season will be a Rocket League record of $6,000,000.
Chopped up over the three splits and multiple regions, the prize pool will be reflected in many ways, with the largest sum directed towards the World Championships.
RLCS 2021-22 Season World Championships will have a huge $2,000,000 prize pool.
The World Championship prize pool will see the winning team take home $600,000, the second will take home $400,000, and the third/fourth will get their hands on $200,000.
RLCS 2021-22 Season New Esports Decals
As a range of new organisations enter Rocket League esports for the first time, or joined towards the twilight of last season, the Esports Shop will be updated with a range of new decals for both existing and new organisations.
Despite not revealing all details, it appears that each of the organisations within the game at the moment, and possibly new arrivals, will all receive at least one new decal.
Alongside a duo of strips, more teams than ever before will be added to the in-game store, including organisations from South America and Oceania.
