With the second Regional wrapped up, and The Grid standings starting to settle, it’s time for another week of Power Rankings. As we near the now-online Fall Major, here’s how the teams stack up.

On the cusp:

  • Fadeaway and Barrage both made surprising top-eight runs in the Regional.
  • Singularity made a strong Grid run but didn’t play in the Regional this weekend.
  • Solary continue to take occasional wins against RLCS teams.

#10: Team Liquid (-3) - kuxir97 / Speed / fruity

With a top-four Grid finish on Thursday, Liquid were poised to make a deep run after their dismal first Regional outing. However, disaster struck for Rocket League’s oldest roster as they fell to TrainHard, Vitality, and Guild to crash out of the swiss bracket with an 0-3 record. It’s not all doom and gloom for Liquid, but things need to turn around fast.

#9: Monkeys (+1) - Mittaen / eekso / arju

With arju now permanently on the roster following Tahz’s departure, Monkeys are continuing to hover around the lower end of the top ten. They went 2-3 in the second swiss stage having taken a big win over Solary and are well on their way to the Fall Major. However, their Grid performances still need some work if they’re to make their way any further.

#8: Oxygen Esports (+0) - Ferra / Chaussette45 / AztraL

Although they reached yet another Grid final (this time losing to Vitality), Oxygen’s lack of participation in the second stage of the Regional makes it incredibly difficult to push them any higher up this week’s Power Rankings.

#7: Endpoint (-2) - Virtuoso / RelatingWave / Metsanaurs

What’s it going to take to get top eight in a Regional? That’s the question on Endpoint’s mind right now as they once again fell to a 1-3 record. Losses against BDS, Vitality, and Guild certainly aren’t anything to get upset about, but Endpoint’s dismal Grid showing has forced them two places down.

#6: FC Barcelona (+3) - Deevo / Ronaky / Itachi

FC Barcelona are in a very strange spot. They’re barely hanging onto their Grid spot (currently sitting in tenth place), but a strong Regional performance has continued their return to the top spots in the rankings. Their only losses throughout the Regional came against teams in the top three, with wins over Giants, BDS, and Vitality needed to send the Spanish football club any further.

#5: Guild Esports (+1) - noly / ThO. / Scrub

Amidst controversial communication commitments, Guild barely lost out to Team BDS to finish their Regional run in the quarterfinals. A loss to Triple Trouble in The Grid hasn’t helped their cause, but Guild continue their push up to Europe’s elite after reverse sweeping the swiss bracket on Saturday.

#4: Top Blokes (+0) - FlamE / Kassio / archie

Top Blokes are, much like FCB, in a strange spot. Whilst they’re definitely ahead of the teams currently below them, they haven’t quite been able to consistently beat the trio that tops the table and ultimately stay in fourth. An incredible 3-0 run on Saturday fuelled hopes that they could go one better than the first Regional’s second place, but it was the Giants who ended their run at top four.

#3: Vodafone Giants (+0) - Tox / Zamué / Stake

Once again, third place feels a little harsh for the Giants after their grand final appearance last night in the Regional, but a lacklustre top-eight Grid finish means that the two French sides stay just above them for the time being.

#2: Renault Vitality (-1) - Fairy Peak / Kaydop / Alpha54

Well, well well, here we are again. A Grid victory put Vitality in the perfect position to take the Regional, but their French rivals prevailed in the semifinals once again. Last time around, Vitality were back on top within a week. Can they do it again?

#1: Team BDS (+1) - MaRc_By_8. / M0nkey M00n / Extra

BDS take the top spot away from Vitality for the second time this season after they secured another Regional victory. Whilst their first win left many still sceptical that they could consistently hold their top spot, this time around BDS should be feeling confident that they’re the best team in Europe.

Hats off to BDS, who take the top spot after a few weeks at #2. We’ll be back next week for more Power Rankings but, in the meantime, stay tuned to GGRecon for more RLCS X content.
