Stupid sexy merchant. Those Resident Evil modders are back, and this time, they've put the jolly Duke in their sights to give the weapon and recipe-peddling ally a Miss Congeniality makeover. While the village of Resident Evil Village is populated by grotesque ghouls like Salvatore Moreau and creepy doll Angie, that doesn't mean Capcom's ninth main series isn't without its eye candy.

Alongside the buxom Lady Dimitrescu sparking a whole dark web of saucy fan fiction, the muscular Chris Redfield gives us some serious daddy vibes, and even Karl Heisenberg isn't without his rugged charms. One character you might not expect to send pulses racing is the Duke - until now.

What is the Resident Evil sexy Duke mod?

The release of Resident Evil Village has shown the modding community is alive and well. Alongside morphing Lady Dimitrescu into Thomas the Tank Engine, we've also seen Ada Wong take over as the matriarch of Castle Dimitrescu, and a whole host of nude mods that have stripped the cast naked.

From Ethan Winters to Mother Miranda, most of the Village ensemble are in pretty good shape. The Duke is sporting a few more pounds than his gothic counterparts, but like an episode of Supersize vs Superskinny, the latest mod gives him a chiselled physique. Over on Nexus Mods, "Sexy Duke in Underwear" shows the Duke like you've never seen him before.

Creator RT134 clearly has a penchant for this kind of thing and is remembered for other mods that put Lycans in underwear, give Chris Redfield an erection, and make Angie naked. If you want a peek at what the Duke is packing, there is also a typically NSFW mod called "Naked Sexy Duke Erected". You've been warned.

Will we see more of the Duke in Resident Evil?

While Resident Evil Village originally planned the Duke to be one of Mother Miranda's failed experiments as the Fifth Lord, the story adapted him into a clever homage to Resident Evil 4's Merchant. Instead of simply bringing back the travelling salesman, Village introduced an altogether more interesting character. In the end, hiding from Lady D and the rest of the game's enemies in the safety of the Duke's shop often stopped us from having a heart attack.

We already know the story will continue in some form for Resident Evil 9 - that will round off the Winters Trilogy. It's likely that Rose Winters and Chris Redfield will return, but will we see the Duke again? Unlike most of the game's new acquaintances, the Duke's whereabouts are unknown. In classic Resiverse style, a bomb detonated and blew the titular locale to kingdom come. While the Duke was likely caught in the explosion, he was shown to be surprisingly nimble and could've escaped the blast.

Capcom has also confirmed a Village DLC is officially on the way, suggesting at least some of the characters have more of a story to tell. Whether the Duke returns in his usual or sexy form in Resident Evil 9, we hope this isn't the last we've seen from Ethan Winters' helpful travelling companion.
