Red Bull are gearing up for the end of their annual competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament, the Red Bull Flick series, with the conclusion of the UK circuit on Sunday, September 12.

The final for the domestic competition will be held in the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, and will also be broadcast live on Twitch with live casting and analysis from James Bardolph and Jack "Jacky" Peters.

The Red Bull Flick series offers an alternative to the traditional 5v5 competitive CS:GO scene, with an amateur 2v2 tournament on custom maps designed by Red Bull themselves. In addition to the UK series, there are over 30 national qualifiers around the world, with the winning teams moving on to the Red Bull Flick Invitational in Helsinki, some time in November to face off with professional players in a pro-am tournament.

Players at a CS:GO tournament face off on stage during a Red Bull invitational.

The first Red Bull Flick series launched in 2019, with a local event confined to just Turkey, before expanding it to a global circuit for 2020, that featured over 30 countries and 45,000 competitors. This year, the event has expanded even more, with the UK duos squaring off in multi-stage qualifiers, leaving eight spots for the final on Sunday.

This year’s tournament also has a futuristic twist, with the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London being transformed to replicate the uniquely designed maps featured in the competition. Red Bull took the time to differentiate the national qualifiers with their own set of maps. The UK tournament so far has featured five maps: Digital Archives, Control Room, City Palace, Sky Platform, and Orbital Station WI-NG:5.

The winning team from the UK final will have a lot to look forward to with the invitational in Helsinki, as last year the tournament featured pro teams such as Team Vitality, BIG Clan, ENCE, G2, and more. An amateur team representing Germany took home the win last year in an upset over the French pro players misutaaa and ZywOo - and will be looking to hold onto their title this year as well.
