He's faced hoards of mythical Norse monsters, an epic showdown with the Greek gods of Olympus, and fatherhood. Now, God Of War fans are keen to see what would happen if Kratos came face-to-face with his younger self, and it's something we would absolutely want to see.

Given Kratos has an endless amount of abilities, being the son of a Zeus and all, it definitely wouldn't be surprising if time-travelling was added to the list.

A post by Reddit user, Gauri_aya11, offers God Of War fans a great look at what they could expect to see if older Kratos came up against his younger self.

What Would A Kratos VS. Kratos Match Look Like?

The idea prompted an interesting discussion on Reddit, with many fans debating who would come out on top if the fighting match ever became a reality. One fan said: "Old Kratos might be stronger, but young Kratos still fights with all the fury that OK has worked past. It would be cool to see them be evenly matched while OK is calm reserved, and he has to tap into his old fury to win, taking full control of his greatest demon, his rage."

It's unlikely that the Kratos of the Greek mythology era will just magically appear in front of older Kratos and Atreus on their travels through Ancient Scandinavia. However, the idea that the epic showdown occurs in a dream sequence and symbolises how Kratos has to fight the inner demons of his past, is a great concept. It would be even be cooler if we got to see it in a live-action version with Nick Offerman playing the iconic "Ghost of Sparta".

Could Young Kratos Be Appearing In God Of War: Ragnarok?

There's no word, as of writing, as to whether young Kratos could be making an appearance in the highly-anticipated God Of War: Ragnarok. However, that can't stop us from dreaming, and it would solve an ongoing debate which has been going on among the God Of War gaming community for a while now: Who would win Old or Young Kratos? Although, the upcoming game's delay means we'll just have to wait a little bit longer to find out.

The recent God Of War may have been a game-changer for the popular game franchise, it even claimed the title for 'the best game of all time'. Although, it seems that fans are still eager for the now older and calmer Kratos to embrace the vengeance-fuelled rage of his youth.

One thing's for sure, if it all boiled down to a showdown between who has the most epic beard, then older Kratos would win every time. Hands down.
