PS4 and Xbox One Hogwarts Legacy ports delayed… again

Come on, we thought we were over this. Avalanche Software's Hogwarts Legacy is still being hit with a Stupefy, as the Wizarding World has just delayed its last-gen ports.
Hogwarts Legacy came zooming in on a Firebolt for its February release, however, that was only for us wannabe witches and wizards who have managed to bag a PS5 or Xbox Series. PS4 and Xbox One owners were promised an April 4 release, but sadly, that's now slipped... again.

When does Hogwarts Legacy release on PS4 and Xbox One?
The official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter has confirmed that the game's last-gen release has shifted to May 5. A delay of a whole month - when its release was already two months behind the new-gen versions - is a frustrating turn of events.
While the account says it's grateful for the response from fans, the team is trying to "deliver the best possible experience on all platforms," suggesting that Hogwarts Legacy isn't running quite like it should be on last-gen.
As you can imagine, an angry legion of impatient players were unhappy that Peeves had been tinkering with Hogwarts Legacy. One joked, "Honestly, massive RIP to the dev team who have to develop the game on Xbox One and the Switch."
Another raged, "Please refund my money," while a third added, " I understand that it's not ready but don't go around giving people who can't afford the latest technology the hope it will be ready soon and then just delay it again for another month."
A fourth concluded, "Should be delayed indefinitely." Notably, the tweet's replies were full of new-gen players pointing out glitches and graphical issues.
Where is our Hogwarts Legacy DLC?
Others were asking about the game's release on Nintendo Switch, which is supposed to be coming on July 25. WB Interactive assures us that's still the case, but honestly, we wouldn't hold our breath.
From the replies, it's clear that Hogwarts Legacy has a few gremlins in the castle. The fact it's delaying the last-gen versions to ensure they run properly is probably for the best - still, it won't appease those who are dying to play.
We know Avalanche isn't actively working on a Hogwarts Legacy DLC, and now it makes sense. The team has a lot on its plate, and while those new-gen players who've platinumed the game are dying for more, there's no sign of a mythical Quidditch DLC. How about we get the last-gen version out first?
