A developer managed to play DOOM on a pregnancy test, in one of our favourite stories from last year. Here at GGRecon, we're getting all reflective, so let's dive in and see just how they managed to play one of the classics on something so off-the-wall.

How Did Someone Play DOOM On A Pregnancy Test?

A programmer, known as Foone, took to Twitter to share a video of themselves playing DOOM on a pregnancy test, and it's blowing our minds. You can just about make out Imps, as well as other memorable parts of the game such as the gun at the bottom.

Originally, they went semi-viral for sharing a video of the game that was just playing on the test. When that received so much attention, they decided to go all in and actually play on it.

They wrote: "Yesterday I had a lot of retweets and reddit posts and such for playing Doom on a pregnancy test. But as I explained then, it wasn't really PLAYING on a pregnancy test, it was just a video being played back, not an interactive game. Well, now it is. It's Pregnancy Test Doom!"

It was played on a 128x32 pixel monochrome display, so the quality isn't exactly that of a HD monitor. The basic premise was removing most of the inside of the test, while preserving the ability to use its one-colour display to act as a screen (hence why it's just black and white).

Foone continued: "I'm glad ya'll like this. Here's my soundcloud I MEAN KO-FI, feel free to send me a dollar or two so I can buy more pregnancy testers and make them into USB keyboards and flash drives and such,

"A flash drive is going to be easy but amusing and a keyboard is gonna be very limited and kinda disgusting you can only type one letter, and to get it; you have to pee on it"

Foone shared a couple of videos to their Twitter, but the close-up one is probably the best to be able to see exactly what's going on. All these years later, the arguable grandfather of the FPS genre is still making waves.

Who knows what they'll come up with next?
