Call of Duty: Warzone has been a huge success for the franchise, allowing over 75 million people to enjoy Verdansk and Infinity Ward have kept us entertained with multiple game modes since its conception.

However, one feature that has not been available to the public in Warzone is the ability to host private matches.

'Warzone Weekends', a ten-week long tournament between the Call of Duty League players, has been the only private match to have ever been hosted on Warzone. Spanning over ten weeks, the professionals were pitted against each other in solos, duos, trios, and quads, competing in last-man-standing matches as well as kill races, with a total prize pool of $100,000 alongside the competitive Call of Duty League matches.

However, this feature is set to become available to all players, according to dataminers working with 'ModernWarzone'.

ModernWarzone then went on to say: "[We] Need to go back through the files from foreverrrr ago that had to do with custom Warzone games. Or they could just be the files for how infinity ward makes their special playlists, like Mini Royale. Can’t remember, it’s been a long time. Will update you guys when I can" [sic].

This feature would give the ability to host small Warzone games between friends, or larger Warzone tournaments. The latter opens up a whole new dimension for competitive Warzone, giving players the ability to play against others to be crowned the best individual/squad in Warzone.

There is no news to when 'soon' actually is, however, there are multiple updates due in Season 5. Infinity Ward have already confirmed that Modern Warfare gun balances will be coming at a later date, where players have been calling for weapons such as the Rytec AMR and Bruen MK9 to be nerfed. A playlist update could be rolled out at the same time, or alongside the 'midseason event' that was announced to be coming later this season.

Stay tuned at GGRecon for more Warzone updates.
