We're guessing the Mad Titan is even madder now, with a bizarre and shocking reveal that Princess Peach's crown is worth more than the Infinity Gauntlet. While the Mushroom Kingdom has always been shown as an expansive realm with plenty of odd lands to explore, we've never really sat down and tried to work out Peach's riches.

Aside from her palatial castle, Peach isn't exactly known for splashing the cash - come on, she's worn the same outfit for the past 36 years. It turns out she's had a nearly priceless artefact atop her head this entire time.

Introduced in 1985's Super Mario Bros., Peach was the damsel in distress that sent Mario down the Warp Pipe. Even though her design has changed (slightly) over the years, her pink dress and royal crown have become a mainstay. Aside from taking her crown off when slipping into a bikini for Super Mario Odyssey, it's sat on her dainty head in everything from Mario Kart to Paper MarioSmash Bros. to Super Mario Strikers. But, just how much is it worth?:

How is Princess Peach's crown worth more than the Infinity Gauntlet?

According to custom jewellery company Taylor & Hart, Peach's crown would be worth an eye-watering £240 million. As well as two turquoise Paraiba tourmalines, there's a chonky peach sapphire that's worth £60 million on its own. The listing for the crown reads, "Perhaps surprisingly, the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom’s Crown is number two on our list. Whether she’s battling Bowser, racing down Rainbow Road or taking it easy with the Toads, Princess Peach is rarely seen without her crown".

In comparison, the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet is only estimated at £17.5 million. Sorry Thanos, we don't imagine you'd get much for that at the car boot sale. Looking at the Infinity Gauntlet's disappointing price tag, it's made of a fictional metal called Uru. Still, Taylor & Hart claim it would be the equivalent of 18ct gold. The description explains, "The gauntlet itself is made from Uru, a fictional metal whose closest comparison has been found on Jupiter, bringing its estimated cost to just shy of £1,000,000".

When it comes to the gems, the Reality stone is compared to a red ruby and has the largest valuation of £15 million. The Mind Stone is probably a yellow sapphire (£400k), the Power Stone a purple sapphire (£350k) the Space Stone a blue sapphire (£300k), the Soul Stone and orange sapphire (£275k), and the Time Stone a green emerald (£175k). Personally, we'd argue that the fact the Infinity Gauntlet (when stocked) lets you control time, reality, and space means it should be the most expensive item on the list.

Even though Princess Peach's crown is an impressive piece of kit, it's not the most expensive on the list. In terms of bank-busting jewellery, the Heart of the Ocean from Titanic takes the crown (well, necklace). James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster featured Kate Winslet's Rose being gifted the heart-shaped necklace. The movie ended with the now-infamous scene of Old Lady Rose throwing the Heart of the Ocean into the water after recounting her love story with Jack. Even though the Heart of the Ocean was fictional, it's based on the very real Hope Diamond, which is a 45.52-carat diamond valued at around £350 million.

The rest of the list is made up of some other great video game goldies, with Minecraft's Diamond Sword clocking in at an estimated £175k, Bella Goth's necklace in The Sims 2 fetching £80k, and Skyrim's Amulet of Mara going under the hammer for £6k. Perhaps most disappointingly, Princess Zelda's crown from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is apparently only worth £18k. Maybe Zelda needs to send Link on a midnight raid of Peach's castle for the next game?
